	Since 1997, SLR has been providing Ohakune/Mt Ruapehu skiers and boarders with quality equipment for rental/hire. We are 'Ohakune’s Rental & Tuning Specialists'. SLR’s new store shares its site with Vertigo Climbing in the heart of Ohakune’s shopping centre next to the Pharmacy.

OPEN HOURS: During the winter, the shop opens at 7.30am everyday (7am on weekends) and closes at around 7pm subject to demand, and 12pm (midnight) on Fridays.

NEW FOR 2012 SEASON:

For 2012, SLR have raised the bar again. We have installed a data base based rental system, which provides our customers with a fast reliable system that both remembers them and their previous rentals, thereby making repeat rentals a hassle free experience.

Also, due to great demand for our rental services, we have enlarged our rental area this summer, creating a separate area for trying on boots and clothing, before moving around the shop to get your skis or board fitted. If you have your own boots, which are a great thing to own, then you don’t have to queue with others requiring boots, so thereby speeding up the whole rental process even more.
 

For 2012 we have added some 350 great skis and boards to our fleet. Some examples in the Performance range which we have added include:

50 pairs of Salomon ‘Lord’ and ‘Lady’ all mountain 87mm under foot twin tips, 50 pairs of Atomic ‘Redstar’ on trail carving skis and 25 pairs of Nordica ‘Cinnamon Girl’ women’s skis.

And not forgetting the kids, 75 new Blizzard skis will keep the young ones ripping.

Over 70 new Burton boards have been added to the Recreational and Performance ranges.

Over 250+ new boots in both skis and snowboard and

300+ items of clothing, including pants and jackets (all 10,000 micron) and gloves, we will have you comfortable, stylish and most importantly warm and dry while on the slopes.

With our rental fleet growing to over 1200 skis and boards, and a very strong fleet replacement programme in place, SLR has become firmly entrenched as one of New Zealand’s premier rental stores.

We are also the North Island demo centre for Atomic and Salomon skis, of which we carry a good selection of 2012 and 2013 skis and boards from these top, industry leading brands. When the skis are not on the mountain being available as a demo ski for you to test for one or two runs, they are available in-store so you can book them for a day or two to really test them before you buy.
